To moderator: This has been posted in two sub-forums, Shining Encounters and SHINee World Singapore, so don’t be surprised if you find this all too familiar 🙂 I just want as many fans as possible to be able to share my joy and know how awesome SHINee is. If you feel that it has been posted too many times, feel free to delete this.
Before I begin, I want to say a huge thank you to all the fans that appeared for SHINee tonight for chanting, singing, cheering, and screaming your loudest! It was a phenomenal experience which I believe all six thousand of us will never forget for their rest of our lives.
The very first song they sang was SHINee World. It was surreal seeing them perform live, having their own concert. I’ve seen them before in person early last year for an awards ceremony, but this was different, way different. I was seated at the sides, but it was a good view. As security was tight and the rules of no photography allowed was strictly enforced, I could take a few pictures here and there when the ushers were not looking.
SHINee is amazing. Their stage presence was so tangible and you could tell they were enjoying the screams from the fans. They all looked so tall (yes, even Jonghyun), and so dreamy. From SHINee World they moved to Get Down, where Key and Minho got to showcase their prowess as mean rappers. Key’s makeup was not that extravagant as compared to the concerts in Japan and Korea, it was just simple eyeliner. His eyes are mesmerizing. Though I was not able to see him up close, the video crew did a great job on zooming in on his face. Jonghyun looked hot as usual, he was so sexy!
Then came Senorita (the song, not a girl, ha :P). Taemin’s hip movements are so eye-catching! It was amazing watching him dance in front of my eyes. He hit every single beat with so much accuracy. I think they lip-synced to certain songs (I can’t remember the exact ones) to conserve their energy because there were times when Jonghyun was hitting his high notes and we didn’t see his famous popping veins in his neck. A.Mi.Go gave the whole stadium a huge adrenaline rush! Towards the end of the song, the boys ran back to the main stage and that’s where some fanservice happened. Key placed his arm around Jonghyun’s shoulders and the crowd went crazy!
After Senorita was Juliette, which was lip-synced. An awesome performance as always. Then came the three gentle songs Stand By Me, Your Name and Hello (I may be wrong with the order). I didn’t scream most of the time because I wanted to hear them sing, since that has been my wish since I became a fan. I was so captivated by their voices. After Stand By Me they took a rest and talked to use. Key was so cute with his American accented English. “Please stay till the end,” he smiled lovingly at us. They mentioned Singapore was really hot. ha. Love Should Go On was the last song for the first set, before the boys ran back stage to prepare for their solo stages.
First up Taemin, which Romeo+Juliette. As I mentioned above, seeing him dance live is indescribable. He is so precise and effortless in his dance moves, it’s like watching a Korean Michael Jackson. He’s really skinny. Our little maknae’s voice has improved by leaps and bounds. He sang with so much soul and emotion, I was lost in his solo stage.
Second was Jonghyun. I was hoping he would sing Girls. He looked so hot and charming in those fancams I was dying to watch it live, but in the end he put on a different performance. It was not the Chinese duet with their SM senior, but an English R&B song. I swear I had no idea what he was singing because first off, I did not know the song. Secondly, his English pronunciation isn’t exactly the best. But despite but being able to comprehend what he was singing, it was a soulful performance. He sang in falsetto most of the time, I got goosebumps all over. This is why he is SHINee’s lead singer.
Then it was Minho. Ha. Sexy as always. His abs are really sight to behold. So tight! I squealed when he casually and very smugly I might add, unbuttoned his blazer. His final pose was….sigh. I can’t find any words for it. My friend melted beside me as he looked back towards the audience. Photos and videos really don’t do justice to the charisma this boy exudes when he is on stage.
And finally, Key!!! It was a fun and cheeky performance as usual, Taemin was his girl again! I couldn’t stop laughing because it just looked so funny, like a gag concert. But I must say, Taemin would make one sexy girl, minus the dirty blonde hair, ha! Key was really hyper, guess he must really enjoy seeing his son dressed up as a girl.
To end the second set they sang A-Yo. I can’t remember the exact details of the performance because my mind is in a whirl right now, post-concert problems, haha! But I do remember there was some teasing among the members, whoever remembers to please the fans here at SFI know! Onew moved to my side and smiled at the fans as he grooved to the music, such a cutie pie!
It started with Romantic….man have I mentioned how awesome they sound live? They showed no signs of tiredness throughout the whole concert. Everyone was in their best condition. I was a bit worried for them because I knew they landed in SG only at 6am on the day of the concert. But clearly my worries were for nothing. They sang there hit ballads Life, Quasimodo and Graze after. SHINee is one Korean boy group I do not find boring when they perform ballads because their presence on stage is all that is needed to captivate me.
Then came the upbeat songs Love like Oxygen and Replay. The whole stadium was singing along as the boys danced on stage. Each of them looked so dashing in their white suits. They should seriously where clothes like this more often, it’s such eye candy! I think the director of the concert did a really good job because he or she made sure that the whole stage was used to its full potential. They moved around, interacting with the fans in the mosh pit and those at the arenas and terraces.
Then came Obsession, my second top favorite song. Jonghyun’s voice is really…..breathtaking. I loved his voice in the record and hearing him sing it live with the rest of SHINee was just plain wow. Key’s eyes showed impeccable expressions of the song. I tried to take as many photos as possible but had to take precaution due to the strict security.
The third set ended with Onew’s solo performance of Nessun Dorma. Our clumsy leader should consider releasing a classical music album! I was so impressed with his vocals, I shivered as I heard him sing.
Before they moved on the fourth stage, they came out with white robes draped on their bodies as what sounded like a Korean folk song began to play. I believe it is a traditional children’s folk song. They were lyrics on the main screen but due to my seat, I could not see them at all. It was nice hearing them sing such simple notes. I think this industry lacks music just for listening, and not to impress. Onew was the last to come on, and he had wings on his back. When the song ended and he wrapped his fluffy white wings around this little boy, who was the child SHINee was singing to; a fan behind us spoiled the mood in a good way by saying, “He looks like a chicken.”
This was such a fun and exciting part of the concert! I don’t have much to say about their performances here because we’ve seen them so often on music programs and other outdoor performances. But nevertheless, it was nice to see them perform it live. They sang Ring Ding Dong, Up and Down, Ready or Not and Lucifer. Onew sangtae was very apparent in Ready or Not! In the chorus, all the boys started spinning around on the spot, and they would do that for the whole chorus! For the last chorus of the song, Onew finished his song, and had a lot of difficulty standing straight. My friend and I could not stop laughing! It was hilarious! Then as they moved back to this moving platform they would transport them back to the main stage, Onew had to sit down because he was feeling way to dizzy. Mweolhaedo Onew sangtae!
Lucifer was really the climax of the concert. The laser beams that shot out from those Wolverine claws as the boys moved up unto the roof brought about many screams from the audience. The lights turned red and it set the whole dark and mysterious feeling of the lyrics. We knew that this was not the end of the concert.
When they went backstage to prepare for the Encore, all of us shouted, “SHINee! SHINee! SHINee!” And as expected, they appeared again in their SHINee tees and white skinny jeans. They performed JoJo first. I was just waiting for their water fight to begin. So when JoJo ended and Bodyguard came on, I knew what was coming 😉 And who to begin the water fight first but Jonghyun. His very first victim was Minho. It was fun watching them have fun on stage. What I love about them is that they are so real to themselves, even on such a huge stage.
I doubt I need to go into details about what happened because we all know what happens when SHINee and water are put together. BUT! I noticed something. Onew was chasing Key around the stage and Key kept shaking his left finger and head to his leader, indicating that he did not want to get splashed. However, when the song was ending and they were headed back to the main stage. Onew caught Key unexpectedly and splashed water right into Kibum’s face from his mouth! HAHA!!!
Oh yes, they were throwing the balls into the audience and Key kissed every single ball before he gave them away 🙂 And, some fans threw some really silly hats on stage and SHINee wore them! They are such adorable dorks. When the music ended and they walked back to the main stage, Jonghyun turned around to face the audience and he had on him a pink wool hat, with dark blue sparkling glasses. And Key burst out laughing right into the mic, pointing at his husband. We laughed along as well as Jjong looked really ridiculous, albeit extremely adorkable and cute.
They took a breather and thanked us for attending their concert and Key asked if we had fun. I must say he really is such a sweet guy, I would love to have a boyfriend like him. This is why he is my bias 🙂 Onew introduced the next song and One began to play.
And so they sang the song and did their curtain call, bowing for as long as they’ve always had. They are so polite. Random hats were thrown unto the stage again and Onew picked up one basecall cap and placed it on his head. Key took a banner from one of the fans, which said “Happy Key’s Day”, because his birthday is coming soon. He smiled sweetly at the camera as he held up his banner 🙂
When then song ended, they talked once more and before the concert came to a close, Jonghyun kissed the banner from Key and held it up, and asked us to sing Key a Happy Birthday song! We sang it in English and in the midst of this, Key was attacked by a spray. He just bowed down in defeat and smiled as he continued being attacked by his members. At the end of the song, Jonghyun said in English, “Happy birthday Key, I love you.”
That was the cutest tone I have ever heard Jjong use!!!! It was so romantic!!! Hahahaha!!! We went crazy!!! I will never forget that moment 🙂 When it was time for the concert to conclude, Jonghyun went berserk and shouted, “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” for a looooong time! We all sighed and aww-ed as they disappeared…
All in all, it has been a magical night, one that I will never forget. Photos will be uploaded soon. I will need to edit and pick the best ones, so that I can share my happiness with all of you guys on SFI. I highly encourage all of you to go for their concert if you get the chance. You will not regret it 🙂
Edit: I forgot to add! After celebrating Key’s birthday and all, SHINee chanted, “Dance, dance!” and Key began to shake his hips and booty all over!!! Heh 😛
